TheSmooths History
The real History:
TheSmooths were formed back in the year 2001 in the summer. Tom and Joe (now of KnowOne fame) had been practising a White Stripes formation (mainly dammit and the omnipresent smells like teen spirit) when Grant was introduced as a singer/bassist. They practised and soon got a gig, some time in August 2001. Went well. Then there was Westcliff battle of the bands on 21st November 2001. Went Well. We did some others, one at dawn i know for sure sometime in march this year. When shopping in Camden one day Joe and Tom recieved a call from Grant explaining his departure from the band. Whoo Hooo!

A fake (but more interesting) History.

Archibald Bain was born in February 1920 and enlisted in the British army in 1938. He was soon sent into the conflict in 1939 in the Western borders of Ypres. He was accidently, due to a dare by his young friend, William Winston Croot, put into the 1st regimental Scottish corps. There he befriended young Scotsman, Willie McHaggis. They fought alongside each other for six long years and finally returned to England. They promised to keepin touch, and wrote once or twice, but soon after they never spoke again. Archibald Bain had a brother, Wilfred. Wilfred opened a farmer supplies shop in the small town of South Woodham Ferrers.

Many Years later, Tom and Joe (of no relation to any previous characters) met in that exact farming supplies shop as Joe was buying a Hoe (the gardening tool) and Tom was using (and abusing) their bathroom. Then they met a guy called Russel on a school trip to Scotland. He had a friend who was captive in a Scottish factory making latex dolls. They smuggled them both out, releasing Russel into the wild at Skivnel (just outside of Birmingham) and keeping Grant as their third band member.

And so TheSmooths were born, and this story is told around many campfires on halloween, scaring many a young child.

TheSmooths- The origin of the name

We used to say smooth if something was Don/Cool/Heavy/Phat. We thought we were Don/Cool/Heavy/Phat and so we called ourselves TheSmooths.
